Carrie-Jane Williams is from the St. John’s community of Goulds. After many wonderful and unpredictable years of teaching English-language learners across Canada and around the world, she is delighted to call Newfoundland home yet again. Carrie-Jane—who also responds to “Ms!”—teaches newcomers to Canada in the K-12 system in St. John’s. “Past Tenses” is her first work of fiction and first creative publication.
