Violet Drake is a poet, visual artist, and activist born and raised in the small coastal community of Lawn, Newfoundland. Now based in St. John’s, her work explores queer and trans intimacies, embodied trauma, and place-based poetics. She has engaged with academic, artistic, and activist audiences through conferences, workshops, speeches, and performances. She is currently finishing her debut poetry collection estrogenesis.
