Joan Clark was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, and currently resides in Newfoundland. She is the author of five novels including The Victory of Geraldine Gull, which won the 1998 Canadian Authors Association Award. She has also written award-winning books for children and two short story collections including From a High Thin Wire.
