Sharai Mustatia
Sharai is a Métis-Cree/Romanian writer originally from Regina, SK. They are currently writing their first novel about the experience of coerced adoption within the Canadian-Indigenous socio-political landscape. Sharai was invited to participate in the Indigenous Writers residency at Banff Centre For Creativity in 2013. Their writing has been published in the Indigenous anthology Dreaming in Indian (Annick Press, 2014) where it appeared alongside other emerging Indigenous artists and writers. Their writing and film photography is political, spiritual and deeply personal. Sharai values kindness as a radical act of compassion.
