Born in Nanaimo, BC, Shauntelle is Lekwugen and Nuu-chah-nulth (Hesquiaht and Songhees). She is 16 years old and currently lives in Victoria, BC where she attends Reynolds Secondary and is enrolled in the soccer academy. Culture has always been a big part of Shauntelle’s life. She was raised learning her mother’s side of culture, and she loves listening and taking part in it. Her parents told her to always be truthful and respectful and she shares her truth through her poetry—she knows her truth needs to be heard.
