This is a dreaming story that witnesses Métis ontologies bleeding over and superseding settler colonial control.
The chapter includes an “exploration” section at the end providing further context and insight into the Métis culture and history which it is inspired by.

Chelsea Vowel is Métis from manitow-sâkahikan (Lac Ste. Anne), Alberta, currently residing in amiskwacîwâskihikan (Edmonton). Mother to six children, she has a BEd, an LLB, and an MA and is a Cree language instructor.
