Jason Guriel (b. 1978) is the recipient of the Frederick Bock Prize and the Editors Prize for Reviewing—both from Poetry magazine. He is the author of several collections of poetry, including Satisfying Clicking Sound (Signal, 2014) and Pure Product (Signal, 2009), and a book of criticism, The Pigheaded Soul: Essays and Reviews on Poetry and Culture (Porcupine’s Quill, 2013). His writing has appeared in Slate, The Atlantic, ELLE, The Walrus, The New Republic, and other magazines. He lives in Toronto.
