James Pollock (b. 1968) grew up in Woodstock, Ontario, and studied at York University and the University of Houston. His book Sailing to Babylon was a finalist for the Griffin Poetry Prize and the Governor General’s Literary Award in Poetry, and won an Outstanding Achievement Award in Poetry from the Wisconsin Library Association. He is the author of You Are Here: Essays on the Art of Poetry in Canada and editor of The Essential Daryl Hine. His poems have appeared in The Paris Review, AGNI, Maisonneuve, The Fiddlehead, and elsewhere. He is Professor of English and Creative Writing at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and lives with his wife and son in Madison, Wisconsin.
