Barbara Bloemink
An art historian with a PhD from Yale University, Barbara Bloemink published the first comprehensive biography of Stettheimer, The Life and Art of Florine Stettheimer (Yale University Press) in 1995. She co-curated Florine Stettheimer, Manhattan Fantastica, at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and has authored numerous articles on Stettheimer. Bloemink was previously the director of five art museums, organized over seventy museum exhibitions on contemporary and modern art and design, published many books, and lectured internationally. Her new Florine Stettheimer biography and a catalogue raisonné is forthcoming.
