E.T. Turner is an American who immigrated to Canada in 2006 to be with her Canadian spouse, and she now has dual citizenship. She has been a gay activist for most of her adult life in the Los Angeles and Seattle areas and on Vancouver Island, BC. She is past president and vice-president of the Vancouver Island Rainbow Association which organizes Pride and other community activities in Nanaimo. VIRA became Nanaimo Pride Society, and she is a past member of the board. She is currently involved in the Nanaimo Pride Society History Archives Project. She has previously published poetry in The Ladder, an early lesbian publication in the US.
