Miles Steyn

Miles Steyn was born in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, moved to Vancouver at age nine, and has been back and forth ever since. He is a graduate of the Creative Writing MFA Program at the University of Victoria, and his work has appeared in publications across Canada. In 2015, Miles’s essay “Wire to the Sky” was shortlisted for EVENT Magazine’s creative nonfiction contest. In 2018, he was long-listed for the CBC Nonfiction Prize. In 2019, he was selected as one of five emerging writers to participate in the RBC Charles Taylor Mentorship Program. Miles is currently exploring themes of nationality, loss, and difference in his first memoir, Shongololo Pie.

Conor Kerr

Conor Kerr is a Metis writer from Amiskwaciy Waskahegan by way of Buffalo Pound Lake. He works at the Indigenous Student Services Centre at NorQuest College and is a student in UBC’s MFA program. Conor is a proud listener, storyteller, harvester, and Labrador retriever enthusiast.
